Harry, która rozpoczynała karierę jako "króliczek" Playboya, dała się poznać jako wokalistka obdarzona charakterystycznym głosem i nieprzeciętną energią sceniczną czy wręcz charyzmą. Wspólnie z kolegami z zespołu Blondie wypracowała nowatorską na ówczesne czasy kombinację rocka, punku, disco, a nawet rapu i reggae i jest uważana za jedną z prekursorek stylu new wave. Niezbywalnym elementem wizerunku zespołu był atrakcyjny wygląd i sex appeal Harry. Zespół i jego wokalistka na początku działalności pozostawali pod silnym wpływem Andy Warhola[1].
